Personality | Excitable, headstrong, and eccentric, Murasaki works hard and plays hard. Ultimately, she aims to fill her life with as much excitement, beauty, and purpose as she can, and to have fun while doing it. She is very forward with acting on her whims while at play, and that can make her behavior erratic: she might take the afternoon to enjoy napping in the shade or she might urge her companions to hurry up to the next sight depending on the day.
At the same time, she's not completely inconsiderate; she's respectful of responsibility and cognizant about what things ought and must be done... Though there's nothing stopping her from scheduling a few more minutes of fun before she gets to her obligations, if she can manage.
She loves nature, hiking, camping, and bouldering when she gets the chance, and snaps photos of the sights she sees. Murasaki is a big environmentalist as well, historically being involved in student clubs to help make the world a little cleaner.
If she can help it, Murasaki meets adversity head-on, and tends to be resourceful and even-keeled throughout. She tends not to worry much about saving face, or about social expectation, though, so in duels and other challenges, her eccentricities might sneak in. Still, Murasaki enjoys puzzles and problem-solving, nature and people. There's a lot to love in the world, and she's hoping to enjoy as much as she can!

- Bio:
Murasaki grew up the sickly middle child of three siblings in a well-to-do household. Though she received much affection from her parents and made plenty of friends at school, she was constantly wheeling in and out of the hospital for acute asthma attacks and illness, brushing up against death in a few instances. She talked to many inpatients over her formative years, and they all told her to be grateful for the life she had, and yearned for the world outside the hospital ward.
Murasaki viewed the world enviously from the window on her hospital bed and vowed to be greedy, to capture as much of the world as she could for herself and experience as much as she could. When she communicated these thoughts to her parents, they took her to the public pool, threw her into the deep end, and laughed as she sputtered her way back to the side. Swimming helped her tremendously with her asthma, and eventually, she was active and trying everything she could.
In school, she was something of an interdisciplinarian, flitting between social groups, making friends, hanging out in various clubs (that she wasn't even affiliated with; some clubs rightfully chased her out), learning as much as she could, and of course, playing incredibly hard. Duel Monsters was a perfect pastime for her. It was theatrical spectator sport, logic puzzle, fiend of luck, and art showcase rolled into one package.
Even transient between hobbies, Murasaki found the game a sort of constant "glue" in her life. She connected with friends who were way different and was able to try many, many things in the exercise of deckbuilding. In the end, her tendency to maximize won out: she built a deck stacked sixty cards tall, crammed with cards she loved and the cards that made them "pop." To her, her dueling deck is the place where she can showcase the cool thing her cards can do, and she has always played with nature at the core of her strategies. It gave her strength, it gave her peace, and with some luck, it might even give her victory.
In the end, Murasaki chose the path that she saw best letting her collect things she loved (with her parents' blessing): all the moments of great excitement and thrill, and wonderful pieces of art as well! Whether she will go pro or go on to do something completely different is entirely up in the air. She's playing all of that by ear.
