Outside of dueling, Caihong seems like a typical energetic teenage girl. Having learned Japanese from the many traders going in and out of her hometown, she finds no trouble in socializing with others, and often enjoys doing so. If it seems as though someone is desperately struggling, she will offer to help, but if she believes it's a simple problem, she tends to believe that it's best for them to work out the solution on their own. If she is asked for guidance, though, she will immediately jump to their aid. The one oddity that some may find is that when alone in her free time, Caihong can sometimes be found practicing Tai Chi, an unusually serious look on her face. She also doesn't shy away from using the techniques she practices against people who she deems a threat, or seriously grate on her nerves, though it can take a lot to accomplish the latter.
During a duel, however, Caihong sometimes seems like a different person. Most notably when summoning one of the ace monsters of the different elements, she will often put on a facade to match what she believes is fitting for the situation; for example, when summoning the Fire attribute elemental lord, she will act hot headed and aggressive, but when summoning the Water one, she will act calm and level headed. It doesn't take much to break these facades if someone were to point them out though; it's merely a habit of hers due to her interest in the Wu Xing theory and a belief that applying it will help her perform better. Otherwise, she's her same energetic, cheerful self.

- Bio:
Caihong grew up in the port trading city of Nantong, constantly surrounded by the bustling business of the market as both her parents worked as traders. With all of the foreigners and goods going in and out of the city, it was no surprise that Caigong eventually came across a pair of children playing Duel Monsters as she was helping out her parents. Interested by the card game, she learned the rules from them, and began collecting cards of her own as shipments came in and out, using her allowance to purchase ones that seemed interesting to her. As a follower of the teachings of Wu Xing, she found elemental focused cards highly appealing, and soon enough had collected the necessary cards to build a deck, following tips that she would receive from the different traders to make sure she didn't just end up with a mishmash of cards. Noticing her interest in the game, Caihong's parents learned about a dueling academy overseas, and after proposing the idea to Caihong, the girl was packed and ready to leave the next morning.
